CMA CGM has released two consecutive tariff updates for October 2026, covering trade lanes from China to East Africa, and from Asia to the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on China – East Africa Lanes
Effective October 15, 2026 and valid until further notice, CMA CGM will apply a new Peak Season Surcharge on cargo from China to key East African ports.

CMA CGM will implement updated Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for services from all major Asian ports to Mediterranean, Black Sea and North African destinations, valid for the period October 19 to October 31, 2026.
FAK rates are uniform pricing structures applied across all cargo categories, with no commodity-based rate differentiation.
Coverage & Charge Breakdown
- Applicable cargo types: Dry cargo, reefer cargo, out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo and paid empty containers
- Included charges: Basic ocean freight, bunker-related surcharges, ETS and LSS
- Excluded charges: Terminal Handling Charges (THC), safety and security-related surcharges and other ancillary fees, which will be billed separately.
